Exquisite Costa Blanca Escape

Beautiful potential let down by misleading photos and a property that hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. Positive: The pool area and outdoor space have real potential and could be lovely if properly looked after. The bath in the top floor bathroom was a nice touch, and having four bedrooms would have been great if they’d all been usable. Negative: The images were misleading. The property we stayed in was not the same as the one shown in the photos. Since our stay, I think they’ve realised this, as they’ve removed the photos of rooms that didn’t physically exist. It was also shown to have a roof terrace, which it does not have, along with a corner sofa, a fireplace, and a completely different barbecue. Whole rooms shown in the images have now been removed from the listing. The property was very dirty throughout. Outside, the pool tiles are coming off, there’s paint and debris in the corners of the children’s pool, and the main pool paintwork is flaking. The sun loungers are sagging or broken and stained with food and suncream. On our last day the outdoor shower was blocked, leaving a pool of dirty water where mosquitoes could breed. Outdoor furniture is cracked and peeling, the umbrellas are broken, the rugs are very dirty, and the tablecloth is stapled to the table, old, torn, and stained. Some of the cushions shown in the pictures were also missing. Inside, the beds weren’t made up as shown, the duvet covers were empty, and there was one less duvet than we needed. Worst of all, someone had previously been sick in the main master bedroom and it hadn’t been cleared up, the headboard, mattress topper, and pillow were all stained, and the smell was unbelievable. It had also run onto bedding they had changed. I contacted the WhatsApp number given, but nobody came to change it, so we washed the bedding ourselves, scrubbed the headboard, and swapped the mattress topper. Because they made no effort to help with this, we didn’t feel it was worth raising the general dirt with them too. It felt like it would mean redoing the whole house, and there simply wasn’t time. This wasn’t surface level dirt, it was clear buildup over time. The top floor bathroom bath had zero silicone sealant round the edge, so water spilled out every shower, causing visible swelling and paint peeling on the other side of the wall.

We did enjoy it! Positive: Very well equipped villa, nice and quiet location.
